Några Fårösundsbor avråder i en skrivelse Migrationsverket från att förlägga 250 asylplatser i samhället. Däremot är man positiv till 50 – 60 asylsökande.
Det är Fårö/Fårösunds företagarförening, Bunge sockenförening, PRO samt SPF i Bunge som författat en en skrivelse till Migrationsverkets generaldirektör Anders Danielsson. Anledningen är enligt Ted Ljungqvist, som utsetts till talesperson för gruppen, att det den senaste tiden florerat rykten i media att Fårösund eventuellt ska ta emot 250 asylsökande inom kort.
Skrivelsen har också skickats till migrationsminister Morgan Johansson (S) och regionstyrelsens ordförande Björn Jansson (S).

Ny råvattenledning (inkommande vatten) har byggts klart från Bäste träsk till Biskopshöjden i Fårösund. Där pågår byggnation av nytt vattenverk som beräknas vara klart i september 2015. Då kommer Fårösundsområdet (inklusive Bungenäs) att få ett nytt dricksvatten i ledningarna.
En ny dricksvattenledning har byggts från Biskopshöjden till Bungenäs via Strandvägen av entreprenör NCC AB (Nybergs), där slutbesiktning utförts nyligen.
Anslutning av dricksvatten mot befintligt vattennät kommer att utföras på Biskopshöjden i villaområdet samt inne i Kustparken när det nya vattenverket är klart att tas i drift.
